Future Notebook- A complete new way of looking at the world?
The ultimate notebook has finally broken cover. Well, at lease this was been heard by a bunch of people in T3 tech been saying about. It stated that they are finally ready to lunch the ultimate notebook of the century~ But behold of that... There's still time for minor tweaks before they take the finished modal to the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vages. Hm... Anyway, before we had our 1st prototype in our hand, let us reviewed some of it's fascinating details:
SIDE SCREENS: two info touchstrips run along either side of the main screen. They display new emails and tweets and have playback shortcuts to control your muscis.
MULTI-PURPOSE LID: a carbon fibre lid keeps the HD screen safe during transit and turns into a stand when a spot of movie watching or ebook reading is required. Detach it to use the device flat.
KEYBOARD: the keyboard is fully retractable, so you can keep it out of the way when not in use. It's razor-thin keys are subtle and mobile phone like.
HARDWARE: current specs run to HDMI with 1080i output, bluetooth 2.1, 3g SIM card slot, Wi-Fi N, 4GB RAM, SSD storage, 2M webcam and Dolby headphone port. It runs win 7 as standard.
MATERIALS: a combination of carbon fibre, magnesium alloy and perforated aluminium means it's light and stylish yet powerful.
iPod Slide- New Design For New People
Wish Apple had tried a bit harder with the new Nano?
Taiwanese designer Tryi Yeh has succeeded where Apple's polo-necked ninja failed, combining the functionality of the Nano with compactitude of the of the Shuffle. Slide out the screen a little, and you can access the main controls. Pull it out fully and you can scroll through your music collection, select a song, then whack the screen back in the smallest pocket you have. Clearly, it's not officially endorsed by Apple, but here's hoping somebody in Cupertino is paying attention...
How it should work... Slide action
Browse---- see full track listings on the screen when it's fully extended
Skip------ slide out partly to skip tracks and pause
Go-------- close it completely to put it on hold for storage in your pocket
